Name: Megamind
Aliases: n/a
Canon: Megamind (film)
Role: SUPERvillain
Species: Blue
Gender: Male
Age: unknown
Appearance:

Origin story: Being an alien sent to Earth as his parents last action from a dying planet, as a large-headed blue child Megamind never quite fit in on Earth. Luckily he had plenty of marketable skills and like many such individuals, took to villainy fairly young, putting his immense intellect and knack for creating giant, menacing robots and gadgets to good use terrorizing innocent people.
A long (probably not that long), and storied (probably not that storied, either) rivalry with Alpha Force member Lina Inverse came to an end several years before the events of Capital H, when Lina left L.A. With no archnemesis to menance, Megamind mind also left, and spend some time in SACRAMENTO, giving a few other super-hero nemeses a valiant try. Sacramento never really lent itself to extremes of supervillainy or heroism however, and Megamind found the fare there to be unchallenging and ultimately uninteresting. It DID, however, give him time to really stock-pile the old death-laser and giant-mech suit warehouse, however.
When Megamind hears word that Lina Inverse is not only back in L.A. but back with the loathsome Alpha Force, he wastes no time dropping everything in Sacramento and moving back to their own stomping grounds in Los Angeles (pronounced with a hard 'G', and a silent 's', Thank You) eager to start up a GLORIOUS rivalry with a foe WORTHY of his criminal mastery.
Personality: Megamind isn't just a villain. He's an artist...of villainy. He takes his role as an arch-nemesisvery seriously...it's not just a job after all; it's a way of life. A reason for being. It's not about world-domination (I mean, it IS but not JUST that) it's about TRADITION. The ancient tenants of GOOD and EVIL, of LIGHT and DARK, and the poetry of banter on the field of battle.
Megamind is intensely invested in his supervillainy and uses it as the ultimate outlet for his many eclectic...hobbies. His ill-will tends to only run skin deep, as he's not incredibly interested in say killing people, and indeed seems to have more FUN than anything else when inciting an epic battle with heroes. His motivations lie more in the perpetuation of the contest between good and evil than they do in actually accomplishing any sort of real conquest or destruction.
Personality wise Megamind is egotistical, over-the top and constantly putting on a show for an audience that at any given time, may or may not exist. His extravagance knows NO ends and can be found in everything from his mannerisms, to his costume choices, and even weapon ddesigns Does a 50 foot mech suit NEED spurs or 12-foot shoulder spikes to get the job done? Of COURSE not, but if you're not going to do something with flourish, why bother doing it at all?
Determined and stubborn, Megamind doesn't give up easily, and will continue a fight as long as he's in it - even when losing. In fact, he doesn't see WINNING a battle as the important outcome at all.
Somewhat socially inept and off-putting due to his very limited interactions with people on a regular, day-to-day basis.
Differences from canon: Personality and motivations are largely the same, but this Megamind's typical city of choice is Los Angeles, rather than Metrocity - although he's been gone for a few years now. Rather than a long rivalry with Metroman, he instead has a past, fairly brief, but EXCELLENT arching relationship with Lina Inverse, and is eager to continue their rivalry now that she's returned.
Power level: B
Powers: Megamind's greatest asset is his intelligence; a skill he mostly puts to use inventing terribly creative and bizarre weapons and devices to go about his villain-ing (ie/ the dehydration ray). He has a large, heavily armed robot-mech-suit for strolling around the city and destroying landmarks and what-have you. In addition, he keeps a small stable of small, flying brainbots who are not terribly threatening on their own, by en masse can be intimidating and useful for manual labor. Megamind notably has a watch that allows him to copy the image of and project it onto himself, another individual, allowing him to disguise himself and go undetected readily.
